Protective Glove Testing Is Moving Beyond Basic Visual Checks
Protective gloves require performance testing that goes beyond appearance, especially for mechanical, chemical, and safety claims.

Protective gloves are often selected for specific hazards, which means visual inspection alone cannot confirm whether they are fit for use. Buyers need evidence related to abrasion resistance, cut protection, puncture resistance, chemical handling, comfort, and sizing consistency. This insight explains why glove testing is becoming more application-specific and more important for supplier approval.
Gloves may look acceptable while still failing to provide the protection required for a particular use case.
Performance testing can assess:
- Mechanical resistance and durability
- Barrier performance and chemical compatibility
- Fit, dexterity, and construction consistency
As safety expectations grow, suppliers that validate glove performance with credible testing can better support buyer risk assessments.
