California AB 1817: PFAS limit in textiles falls to 50 ppm in 2027
From 1 January 2027, California counts a textile article as containing regulated PFAS when total organic fluorine reaches 50 ppm, down from 100 ppm.

EU restricts PFHxA in clothing, footwear and consumer textiles
From 10 October 2026, clothing, accessories and footwear for the general public sold in the EU must stay below new PFHxA limits. Other consumer textiles and leather follow from 10 October 2027.

EU REACH Candidate List adds n-hexane and Bisphenol AF
ECHA added two substances to the REACH Candidate List of substances of very high concern on 4 February 2026. The list now has 253 entries.
