How Tti Labs collects, uses, and protects personal data

1. Who We Are
Tti Labs is the shared trading name and website (www.ttilabs.net) of two separate legal entities: Textile Testing International (“TTI”) and Tti Testing Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd. (“Tti”), a private limited company.
Note on similar short names: “TTI” (capitalised) refers only to Textile Testing International. “Tti” (title case) refers only to Tti Testing Laboratories (Pvt) Ltd. These are two distinct legal entities that share a common origin, common premises, common accreditations, and the common “Tti Labs” brand — which is why their short names are so similar.
In this Policy, “Company,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean TTI and/or Tti, specifically whichever entity collects or otherwise processes the personal data concerned; because both operate jointly from the same premises, under the same accreditations, and under the same brand, both apply the practices described in this Policy. We are headquartered at 347-S, Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, Kot Lakhpat, Lahore-54770, Pakistan, with liaison offices in Karachi, Faisalabad, and Sialkot. We are an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited testing laboratory and an ISO/IEC 17020 accredited inspection body, and hold accreditations including PNAC, US CPSC, EPA Punjab, PSQCA, and OGRA approvals.
This Policy explains what personal data we collect through ttilabs.net and the Customer Portal, and in the course of providing testing, inspection, certification, and advisory services, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to visitors to our Website; clients and prospective clients who request quotations or submit Samples; job applicants; complainants; newsletter or update subscribers; and anyone who contacts us by form, telephone, or email.
The Customer Portal (etrf.ttilabs.net) is covered by this Policy for the collection and use practices described in Sections 3 and 4. The Portal may also present its own account-specific terms at login; those terms supplement, and do not replace, this Policy.
Our affiliated businesses, Tti Inspections (Private) Limited (ttiinspections.com) and Tti Food Labs (ttifoodlabs.com), are separate legal entities and maintain their own privacy notices where their sites collect personal data directly.
3. Personal Data We Collect
Website visitors — IP address, browser and device type, and pages viewed, collected automatically, including through Google Analytics (or an equivalent analytics tool) and Google reCAPTCHA, which we use to protect our forms from spam and abuse.
Enquiry and quotation forms — name, company name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
Complaint form — name, company, contact details, and details of the complaint, collected because our ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020 accreditations require us to maintain a formal complaint-handling record.
Customer feedback survey — currently hosted on Microsoft Forms, an external platform; responses are subject to Microsoft's own privacy practices in addition to this Policy.
Sample submission and testing/inspection services — client and company contact details, Sample descriptions, testing or inspection instructions, and the resulting Reports; this is core to how a testing and inspection business operates and is retained as part of our accredited quality records.
Job applicants (Careers page) — name, contact details, CV/résumé, and any other information you choose to submit.
Customer Portal (etrf.ttilabs.net) — login credentials and account activity, used to submit requisitions, track Samples, and retrieve Reports.
Newsletters and updates — your email address and communication preferences, where you have opted in.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to: respond to enquiries and provide quotations; perform testing, inspection, certification, and advisory services and issue Reports; operate the Customer Portal; process job applications; handle formal complaints as required by our accreditations; maintain the quality, traceability, and record-keeping our Accreditation Bodies require; protect our forms and systems against fraud and abuse; and improve our Website and services. We do not use personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you.
Marketing communications — where you have opted in, we may send newsletters, service updates, or promotional communications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email, or by contacting marketing@ttilabs.net.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
Pakistan does not yet have a dedicated data-protection law in force. A Personal Data Protection Bill has been under discussion since 2023, most recently circulated by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication as a draft “Personal Data Protection Act, 2025”; as of the date of this Policy it has not been enacted, and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016 (PECA) remains the relevant law in force. In the absence of a specific domestic framework, and because many of our clients are international brands and buyers who expect GDPR-aligned vendor practices, we process personal data on the basis of: performance of our contract with you (for example, testing services or a job application); our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our business; your consent, where we ask for it (for example, marketing communications or non-essential cookies); and compliance with our legal and accreditation obligations. We will revisit this section if and when Pakistani data-protection legislation is enacted.
6. Cookies and Analytics
Our Website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions (such as session management and reCAPTCHA-based security) and for analytics, such as Google Analytics, to help us understand how the Website is used. Where analytics or advertising cookies are not strictly necessary, we seek your consent through a cookie banner on your first visit. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect the Website's functionality.
7. How We Share Your Data
We share personal data with: our Accreditation and regulatory bodies (for example, PNAC, US CPSC, EPA Punjab, PSQCA, and OGRA) where necessary to obtain or demonstrate accreditation; subcontractors and agents performing functions on our behalf, such as courier services for Sample collection and IT or cloud-hosting providers; Google (for reCAPTCHA and analytics) and Microsoft (for our customer survey and complaint-form intake); buyers or agents nominated by the Client in writing, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions; our professional advisers and insurers; and anyone else where required by law, regulation, or a court or arbitral order. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
8. International Data Transfers
Because we serve international brands and buyers, personal data — including Sample and testing/inspection data — may be transferred outside Pakistan when we communicate results to overseas buyers, agents, or Accreditation Bodies, or where our service providers (for example, analytics or cloud-hosting providers) process data outside Pakistan. We take reasonable contractual and technical steps to protect personal data in such transfers.
9. Data Retention
Test and inspection Reports, and related client quality records, are retained for a minimum of five (5) years, consistent with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation record-keeping practice, or for such longer period as our accreditation documentation or applicable law requires.
Website enquiry and complaint-form data is retained for as long as needed to resolve the matter and to satisfy our accreditation record-keeping obligations.
Job applicant data, including CVs, is retained for up to twelve (12) months after the relevant recruitment process closes, in case suitable future opportunities arise, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Newsletter and marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe or object. We securely delete or anonymise personal data once it is no longer needed for these purposes.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including access controls and spam/abuse protection such as reCAPTCHA on our forms — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Rights
Wherever you are located, you may ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, to access, correct, or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent (for example, to marketing) at any time. Send requests to marketing@ttilabs.net. Because Pakistan does not yet impose a statutory response deadline for such requests, we aim to respond within thirty (30) days, in line with common international practice. If you are located in a jurisdiction with its own data-protection authority — for example, the EU or UK — you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with that authority.
12. Children's Privacy
Our services and Website are directed at businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we will delete any such data promptly if we become aware it was collected without appropriate consent.
13. Third-Party Links
Our Website links to external platforms we do not control, including our customer survey (Microsoft Forms), Google Maps, our social-media pages, the websites of Tti Inspections (Private) Limited and Tti Food Labs, and the separate Customer Portal. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; please review their respective privacy notices.
14. Relationship to Our Terms and Conditions
This Policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions (ttilabs.net/terms-and-conditions), which govern how Samples, instructions, and Reports are handled as part of the services, including confidentiality of Reports and their release to buyers or agents at a Client's request.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law, including if Pakistan's Personal Data Protection Bill is enacted. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision; we will highlight material changes on this page.
