Tti Labs Joins the BCI Members Field Trip on World Cotton Day 2026
A day in Multan's cotton supply chain, and GMO screening from seed to shelf

On World Cotton Day, 7 October 2026, Tti Testing Laboratories joined the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) Members Field Trip in Multan. Mahmood Group co-hosted the day with the Central Cotton Research Institute.
From the cotton mela to the gin
Tti Labs was represented by Mr Naeem A. Butt, Executive Director of the Tti Labs Sustainability Center, and Mr Sheraz, Head of Marketing.
The day took members from a cotton mela to a working ginning factory.

Proving GMO-free claims, from seed to shelf
Tti Labs is approved by the Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA) to screen cotton for genetically modified material.
The screening follows ISO/TS 5354-1 and -2:2024 and uses real-time PCR.
It helps supply chains certified to GOTS and OCS prove their GMO-free claims, from seed to shelf.
Before the day: a panel on certified cotton
On 3 October, Mr Butt spoke at Guardians of the White Gold, an online session by SAWiE Ecosystems.
The session covered certified cotton: standards, compliance and market access for global trade.
He joined Dr Muhammad Javed Hassan of the APTMA Cotton Foundation, Hafiz Muhammad Bakhsh of WWF-Pakistan and Dr Khalid Mahmood of SAWiE Ecosystems. Aiman Aziz of TRUE Cotton moderated.
For Pakistan’s farmers, spinners and exporters, a certificate is only as strong as the evidence behind it.
Tti Labs thanks SAWiE Ecosystems for bringing the conversation together.
