CEO Summit Islamabad 2026: Tti Labs CEO Asks Leaders to Step Up
Hamed K. Lateef on skills, battery testing and growth in testing times

Hamed K. Lateef, Founder and CEO of Tti Testing Laboratories, spoke at CEO Summit Islamabad 2026, held at the Serena Hotel on 22 October. The theme was Growth in Testing Times. He asked business leaders to step up for what Pakistan needs, even without a return.
Graduates need training for the work
Pakistan has graduates, Mr Lateef said, but too few are trained for the work.
He asked whether business should leave that problem to others. His answer was no. Each CEO, he said, has to step up and build resilience in Pakistan’s workforce.
He also warned that companies must be ready for new challenges and new compliance requirements, and must adapt.
No battery testing facility yet
He gave one example. Batteries are coming into Pakistan, and the country does not yet have a single facility to test them.
“We don’t see an ROI in that project,” he said, “but I believe the country needs that.”
Where the government does not take part, he said, individuals have to step up.
From textiles in 1995 to 17 divisions
Tti Labs began in Lahore in 1995, testing textiles. It later added leather, footwear, protective equipment, medical PPE and pharmaceutical testing.
Today Tti Labs has 17 divisions. Its testing is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and its inspection to ISO/IEC 17020. Its results are accepted in more than 70 economies.
A book launch on stage
The summit also launched the book 100 CEOs & Diplomats of Pakistan. On stage, Mr Lateef received a framed 100 CEOs cover with his portrait.
Among the guests, he met Dr Obaidullah, Chief Executive Officer of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP).
Tti Labs thanks CEO Club Pakistan and World CEO Forum for hosting the conversation.
